Nerdle gameplay overview

Nerdle adapts the familiar colored-tile guessing loop to arithmetic. Instead of finding a word, you build a complete equation containing digits, operators, and an equals sign. Every submitted line must calculate correctly, so a guess is both a deduction and a valid piece of mathematics. The feedback shows which characters belong in the answer and which are already in the right position.

The equation format creates constraints that do not exist in ordinary word games. The equals sign divides the expression from its result, operator precedence matters, and repeated digits can appear. That makes early guesses valuable when they test several digits and operators at once.
